Greetings! the Farmstand at Foothill Farm is open!

The Farmstand at 40 Chestnut Hill Road in Orange is now open. Several varieties of cool-season veggie starts are available. 4-packs are still $3.00.

Introducing Foothill Farm Potting Mix. 'This potting mix is composed of locally sourced, natural and organic ingredients. The mix contains compost from Diemand Farm in Wendell and Clearview composting in Orange. It also includes added bonemeal, blood meal, lime, greensand and rice hulls.

Ricky Baruch introduced me to the recipe during a period when we were unable to purchase our seed-starting mix for our operations. I’ve modified the formula and use this mix in my growing activities.

Speaking of Ricky, the Seeds of Solidarity Farmstand is now open with greens and more. It’s right up the hill from Foothill Farm. You won’t regret paying him a visit.

Our Burlap-bagged potting mix sells for $10.00 for a 10-quart bag. The labels were designed by my granddaughter, Clara Kelsey. You can use the mix to start seeds, pot plants, as a side dressing in the garden, or to enhance productivity for just about any planting.
